Activities

On the farm

  • Take a stroll by the creek, take a picnic hamper and cool your wine in the stream (please note that picnic hampers do require advance notice).
  • Walk among the cows and calves as they graze (calving time is between July and October).
  • If we are hand feeding, you are welcome to ride on the back of the truck and throw out some hay.
  • Bird watching... there are over 55 species of birds on our property.
  • Bushwalking - we are happy to draw you a mud map.
  • Native animals - kangaroos and eagles - see them in their natural surroundings.
  • Enjoy a relaxing game of tennis on the all-weather tennis court.
  • Guided meditations can be arranged. There are many energy points on our property if you prefer a private meditation.

Locally

  • Visit the Bendemeer Craft co-operative.
  • Visit Banalasta Lavender Farm and Cellar Door. See www.banalasta.com.au for more information.
  • Try trout fishing in the McDonald River.
  • Watch the platypus under the old Bendemeer bridge at sunset.
  • Enjoy a visit to Fred Hillier’s ceramics studio (he specialises in making the Aussie “dunny”)
  • Visit the town of Uralla (Thunderbolt the Bushranger’s resting place), its museums, foundry, galleries, antique shops and cafes.

Further afield

  • Take a scenic day trip to Nundle with it’s woollen mill and shop, art gallery, craft shop, old-fashioned grocery store and visit wineries along the way.
  • Visit gorges and national parks. Apsley Falls is 1 hour 10 minutes drive and has good picnic areas and easy walks.
